Process

Potassium chloride reacts with concentrated sulfuric acid at high temperature inside Mannheim furnace to produce potassium sulfate. The solid material is cooled, crushed and screened to finished product. The by‑product hydrogen chloride gas is absorbed by water to produce hydrochloric acid for commercial reuse.
